Organic
Organic products avoid the use of genetically modified seeds, harmful chemicals, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers, while also reducing water pollution during production. These organic materials and fibers are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard and Organic Content Standard.
Recycled
Recycled fabrics are made by processes that convert consumer waste into reusable material, from scraps of fiber to plastic bottles, these are broken down to create new products. By using recycled materials, waste and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced. These recycled fabrics are certified by the Global Recycle Standard, Recycled Claim Standard, Cradle to Cradle and more.
Plant Based
Plant-based materials are made with fibers from substances obtained from bark, wood, or plants. These are made with reconstituted cellulose from trees grown in forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), cotton linter that is transformed and spun into new fibers, or are bio-based and scientifically engineered in a lab.
Low Impact
Processes that aim to better or leave a lower impact on the environment by taking into account the welfare of people, animal rights, water wastage, and decreased chemical use. These environmentally conscious processes are certified by Cotton Made in Africa, Responsible Wool Standard, Bluesign, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and more.
Upcycled
Repurposing old or vintage materials in such a way that creates a product of higher quality or value than the original.
Responsible Manufacturing
Responsible manufacturing focuses on employees and the facilities where products are made by ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, offering equal opportunities, focusing on water stewardship, energy conservation, and limiting the use of hazardous chemicals. This category includes products that are locally made within the brand's own community or country, as well as artisan made, supporting traditional, age-old techniques. Products made in this category are certified by Fairtrade, Fair Trade International, The World Fair Trade Organization, the Nest Seal of Ethical Handcraft, WRAP and more.
